Description: This is my 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger that I’ve owned for over 18 years. It is very reliable and runs on 87 octane pump gas. It was originally equipped with a 318, 904 trans, and 7 1/4 rear end. It now has a built 360 with aluminum Edelbrock heads, Felpro MLS head gaskets, Comp Cams solid lift cam CRS 294-10 ( Duration 294, Lift .525), Schubeck solid racing lifters ( $ 740.00 ), Crane 1.6 roller rockers, Comp Cams chromemoly pushrods, M1 Mopar intake with Felpro Performance gaskets, 11 to 1 .030 Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons, and balanced & blueprinted short block.
It has TTI headers, Accel distributor, Mopar orange ignition box, Holley 750, MT valve covers, and MSD coil. Transmission is a 904 with a Transgo shift kit, lower gear setup , deep pan, Mopar SFI flexplate and a custom Dynamic 3,600 stall converter. The rear end is a 8 ¾ Aubern posi with 391 gears. It has an adjustable pinion snubber and a driveshaft loop for safety. The whole drivetrain has less than 8,000 miles on it.
The car has gone 12.6/12.7 at 106/107mph at the yearly Mopars at the park event in town. The car is not tracked regularly and is used as our 3rd car.
The interior and exterior are in good shape. With that said, it does have a few small rust bubbles here and there on the body. The carpet has been replaced, interior floor has been undercoated, and the front seat redone. Also, the car’s under carriage has been undercoated and is in great shape.
This is a highly optioned car with factory power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes and air conditioning (It originally had air conditioning but I removed the compressor, condensor and lines. If you want to get the A/C working again, you can buy a complete bolt on modern kit for roughly $1325.00 from Classic Auto Air. I left everything untouched in the car and it has a new A/C evaporator in the dash. It also has a cd player, alarm and an aluminum radiator.
I have had a lot of electrical work done and they upgraded some of the circuits that were notorious for causing problems. The entire front end and brake system has also been rebuilt. The fuel system consist of a Holley Blue fuel pump, regulator, and fuel pressure gauge. The interior and exterior side glass seals and felts have been replaced. All normal wear items like: O.E. H.D. multi leaf springs, H.D. leaf springs shackles, all front end suspension components, sealed green axle bearings, ignition switch, ignition lock cylinder, turn signal switch, heater core, heater core valve, headlight switch, blower motor, blower motor switch, have been replaced. In the last couple of months to four years it has had a rebuilt carb, fuel filters, new rotors, bearings, seals, brake mastercylinder, brake pads, calipers, brake hoses, new radiator, coolant hoses, shocks, rebuilt rear differential, rebuilt driveshaft, Edelbrock heads, steering gearbox, pitman arm, idler arm, drive belts, alternator, regulator, spark plugs, ignition wires, timing cover gaskets, engine front seal and waterpump. I’m sure I’m missing something that I’ve replaced or rebuilt. I have a lot of extra chrome trim and miscellaneous parts that go with the sell of the car.
Remember, this is a well taken care of car and always garaged. Please, no ‘tire-kickers’, you will not be allowed to test drive this car unless you demonstrate the ability to purchase. If you’d like to check it out prior to purchase, I will happily take you around the block, but again you will not get to drive unless you show you can buy it.
Over 15K invested in the engine, transmission and differential, not including labor cost.
